Cleveland, OH — An inspirational new book by author Mark C. Perna that bridges generational divides and offers a new paradigm for parents, teachers and employers through re-envisioned education and workforce development has received two prestigious book awards.
Answering Why: Unleashing Passion, Purpose, and Performance in Younger Generations (Greenleaf, Sept. 18, 2018) won Silver in the 2019 Independent Publisher Book Awards (IPPY). Launched in 1996, the IPPY Awards is the first awards program open exclusively to independent authors and publishers. The IPPY Awards ceremony will be held at Copacabana in NYC on May 28, and author Mark Perna will be in attendance. Perna’s book explores such topics as helicopter parenting, parental involvement in educational choices and how to navigate generational differences.
Answering Why also won Silver in the 2018 Nautilus Book Awards. This competition, taglined as “Better Books for a Better World,” has been in existence since 1998 and seeks to recognize books in multiple categories that “make a difference and inspire.” Previous winners include the Dalai Lama, Deepak Chopra, Barbara Kingsolver, Simon Sinek, and other notable names.
Author Mark Perna is founder and CEO of TFS, a strategic consulting firm dedicated to making a difference in education and workforce development. In his book Answering Why, he addresses the skills gap crisis in our young workforce and shows a better, more engaging way to train and motivate today’s Millennials and Generation Z for success.
Of the book’s recognition and awards, Perna says, “I am deeply grateful that my book has been honored in both the IPPY and Nautilus Awards. It’s humbling to be recognized along so many other books written to effect positive change. It has always been my goal to make a bigger difference in education and workforce development.”
Perna will present Answering Why at BookExpo’s 2019 New Title Showcase, May 29–31 in NYC.
